Keraleeya Ayurvada Samajam is now a universally known health sanatorium spread over 11 acres lush green expanse of land that nestles on the life enhancing banks of calm and serene Bharathapuzha, Shoranur. A heaven for those who wish to be far from the madding crowds. It accommodates 105 in-patients at a time in its main center at Shoranur.
It included the management of an Ayurvedia College, providing medical assistance, manufacturing medicines, running a nursing home and its branches, charitable dispensary, imparting training to doctors, technicians & public, conducting research, seminars, workshops, projects and assisting people and institutions in an advisory level in matters which are related to Ayurvedic system of medicine.
Reservation should be made in advance for accommodation in Samajam Hospital. The cottages of various sizes are available and are designed to suit the needs of one family. It included separate treatment room, kitchen, toilet, bathrooms etc. The patients can either cook for themselves in their cottages or can have food from hospital canteen. In special cases, the food items can also be arranged by the hospital authorities on request in advance. Bed linen and other essentials must be brought by the patient during the time of admission.
The ward booking deposit is INR 2,000. A deposit of INR 15,000 is to be made at the time of admission before the start of the treatment and will be later adjusted to the bills. Weekly payments towards the treatments to be paid separately. The charges for the cottages vary from INR 800 to INR 3,000 per day based on the facilities provided under the deluxe, semi-luxury and luxury categories. Bills on the treatments are to be settled at the end of every week.
Eleven elected members constitute the board of Directors and at present Shri.M.Muraleedharan is the President who controls the day-to-day administration of the Samajam.
